CHUNHUAS
We developed a concept deeply rooted in Mayan mythology and culture, inspired by the traditional story of Itzamná, the creator of the Mayab. The narrative about how Itzamná entrusted the birds to spread the habanero seeds across the land and how Chaac brought water and wind to help them grow became the foundational metaphor for the brand’s identity.

Our work involved translating this rich cultural tale into a visual and verbal brand language that communicates the heritage, authenticity, and sacred origin of the habanero chili used in Chunhuas sauces. Through the branding, we aimed to evoke a connection between the product and its ancestral roots, highlighting the idea of nature’s gift and the care behind every bottle.

The final branding integrates symbolic elements and storytelling to reflect the legacy of Itzamná and the sacred journey of the habanero, making Chunhuas not just a sauce, but a celebration of culture and tradition.
 This project was developed during my time as a designer at Bienal Comunicación.
